So let’s go through the step-by-step guide as to how you can use AP to self-tape without a reader:

• Upload your sides: we extract the dialogue for you.

• Choose AI voice: select from 42 hyper-realistic voices and choose your character. We also offer a way for you to record/import lines if you wish.

• Self-tape: after practicing a few times on either cue mode or non-stop mode you’re ready to self-tape. The AI voices will wait for you to finish your line and then move on to the next. And you can track your lines using the AP teleprompter feature.

• Export your video to your camera roll.

There are, however, other ways and other tools that can help here. WeAudition (weaudition.com) is an excellent resource for finding readers. The issue is that although there are readers who are happy to read for free on the platform, most you have to pay for, and after a few self-tapes it can end up being incredibly costly. Cold Read (coldread.com) is another great resource that you can use, but you are limited to using your voice or imported audio ~ so there is no option to use AI voices. And you also have to write every dialogue line by line; they don’t offer the functionality to extract dialogue automatically. There are also other AI tools out there — Scene Partner AI (scenepartner.ai), Rafy (rafy.app), Audition Lead (auditionlead.com), etc.
